Happy and Grateful – Day 101

We have reached the month of April and I am still on course to post daily with my happiness and gratitude I have found.  Please join in if you feel like doing this too by sharing in the comments or on your own blog.  There is so much to be happy and grateful for.

Today was good and bad rolled together.  I saw a dear friend from out-of-state… sadly she was here for a funeral.  We laughed and had a nice long lunch together… but then I had to say goodbye again.  I am trying hard to focus on the pictures shared, the words exchanged and the laughs that echoed through the restaurant.  There was something about her from the first moment that my Dad actually introduced us… she is a strong, beautiful, spiritual, funny, most wonderful woman.  She could be a second mom, another sister, but she is a great friend.

And as she usually does she brought gifts, hand-made crocheted scrubbies. I can hold it and think of her.  She also will be returning to town the end of next month for a planned ahead visit.  I am very happy to have been able to see her even though it was under unwanted circumstances.  And I am grateful for all that she does – she is a great friend to my Dad.  Friends mean so much to me, I just hate to see them leave.
