Happy and Grateful – Day 95

Busy day today, too much anxiety, too much disappointment, but still there was a few moments of happiness and gratitude.

I had an out-of-town doctors appointment and I have lots of anxiety when I drive it.  BUT my daughter was off work and offered to take me there.  So that was a good thing today… avoiding the driving and seeing my daughter both.  We shared a nice lunch afterwards and got some coffee for the drive home.  One of the best things though… on the way home I had to squint because the sun was actually out!  Seems like it has been cloudy forever!

So in spite of all the negatives I was still happy to see both my daughter and the sun.  And I was grateful I did not have to drive in all the traffic.  Now I am going to put my negative flowing mind in a direction of sleep hoping to wake up in better spirits tomorrow with the sun!

I overslept today… had plans for things to do and slept right through my alarms.  It really frustrates me when I do that.  I know some of it is my medication that I take so I can sleep.  But I usually have to set 4 alarms just to wake up on time.  I only set two today so I guess it is my own fault.

I did still accomplish something today though.  We needed to fill out paperwork for the renewal of our lease and I sat down and at least got that done.  Filling out paperwork with fibro fog can be a nightmare sometimes… at least today I was pretty much able to concentrate.  So I am happy the paperwork is done and grateful the fog was minimal today.  Now I hope the renewal goes through ok.  I hate moving!

I haven’t felt the best today but with the continued rain I am not surprised.  I just have to make it through two more days of this and then they say we get sunshine again!  I really need to look into getting one of those full spectrum lights that doubles as the suns rays when you can’t enjoy the real thing.  I do think it would help my mood.

Today was a day spent at home.  I had a card to make (ink on my hands always makes me happy) and a short letter to write for a friend who suffered a loss last week.  The cat was very cuddly today (sometimes I think she knows when I need a hug or cuddle) and kept me company in my lap or on my foot rest a majority of the day.  My boyfriend was busy doing stuff on his day off so I needed the company of my cat to feel less alone.

Not any big things, but the little moments that still can bring a smile and peace of heart.  I am grateful for every small moment I can get.

Monochrome Monday – Heavy Metal and Fine Silk

This weeks picture was a contrasting picture that caught my eye walking across a bridge.  The cold hard steel bolts connected by the finest most delicate spider silk… I had to take a picture.  The little details can hide some of the most interesting things if you don’t take the time to look.  Hope you all have a great week!

Today was another cloudy day with a little bit of rain… they say that by Thursday we might see the sun again.  I can’t wait!  The weather is so gloomy and the rain gives me pain but I am still looking for good things.

The best thing I did today was some writing.  I wrote to a friend and I did some poetry besides my daily prompt poem.  I felt I needed to clear my head and heart a bit and writing always helps.  And having WordPress is good to give me a guaranteed outlet each day.  I am happy that I have time to blog and grateful that my brain has been pretty clear of fibro fog lately to write pretty well.

I hope everyone has a good start to their week!  (((HUGS)))

I Pause

I turn to tell you about a fleeting thought

And I pause

Forgetting for a moment you’re gone

I hear a song on the radio you used to sing to

And I pause

Catching the lump in my throat

I see your picture

And I pause

Then let the tears flow

I pause to remember

I pause to forget

I pause for acceptance

I pause for love

I hear your voice

And I pause

Glad I hit the save button

Wishing I could have saved you…

Happy and Grateful – Day 91

My daughter came through for me again.  She was in need of more comfort food and she texted me to fix green bean casserole for dinner tonight and she would stop after work to eat.  We already had to go to the store so we picked up what we needed along with the rest of our list.

It was actually a great day for the store too.  They have a savings card that when you buy certain sale items you get a discount on gas at their gas station.  In just our one day shopping trip we added enough point the next time we fill up we will save $2.06/gallon – that ought to be a cheap tank of gas!  (Something also to be happy and grateful for!)

So we had dinner all ready for my daughter when she got off of work.  And he had seconds of the casserole even.  We chatted and watched some of RuPaul’s Drag Race on demand… the new season has started.  It turned out to be a good night.

I am happy my daughter expressed her cravings and we had some good food tonight.  I am grateful she was able to visit a while after eating.
