Happy and Grateful – Day 207

July brings fireworks, picnics, pools and air conditioning.  It is a time for those of us in the USA to celebrate our “birthday” and a personal time for me to celebrate life.  It is hot and humid days and thunderstorms cooked up at night.  I am continuing my challenge to find happiness and gratitude in every day.  Join along in the comments or on your own blog.  There is always good in every day.

We finally got a little more rain today.  Sadly a lot of it came in a downpour.  We really just need a nice all day slow soaker rain to bring some green back to the grass.  Even the weeds are starting to turn brown now.  But this morning they said after the rain we would stay in the 80’s for a while… I sure hope so.

It was a busy day with a lot of running, but after I picked up my boyfriend from work we went to Best Buy and got our phones upgraded finally.  We had some old Galaxy S4 phones for a few years now and there was no room on them and they were not holding a charge as well anymore.  So we decided it was time to move up in our plan.  Now if I can just figure out how to make a call on this new phone… LOL!  I am happy with the new phones so far.  Am anxious to try out the new camera and all its features.  It took quite a while though to get the upgrade done and I was glad when we finally got home, and could walk through the door and smell dinner cooking already.

I am not sure how long ago it happened, but the invention of the crock pot is such a blessing!  I threw in pork chops and cream of mushroom soup before I took Dad to his Wednesday coffee (maybe, a 5 minute prep time at most) and when we made our way home, dinner was ready for us.  All we had to do was heat up some cauliflower and we were set.  I am so grateful for my crock pot, it is a real time saver.

I am definitely ready for some sleep tonight.  I bid you all a good night/day.  Don’t forget to be grateful!

  1. I got a new phone recently and my camera is the best feature 🙂 On the weather front, Scotland has rain a plenty this summer! We seem to get a few nice sunny days followed by a few grey rainy days. It makes planning awkward. On the plus side, it’s lovely and green in Scotland – the flowers are happy.
