Happy and Grateful – Day 232

Seven months are gone now and surprisingly I am still plugging along with this challenge to post about my happiness and gratitude every day this year.  August brings the state fair here in Iowa and lots of heat and humidity.  It is the time to see the back to school shopping start with kids dreading it and parents loving it.  As I continue my challenge I hope you will take a minute to reflect on your day too.  You can even share your happiness and gratitude here in the comments or on your own blog.  There is good in every day!

A bittersweet day.  Got to wake up today with one of my best friends here after a fantastic night… but then I once again had to say goodbye knowing it will probably be spring before I see her again.  Why are some of my closest friends so far away now?  My mind twists things and tries to make me believe they wanted to get away from me when I know (or at least hope) that is not the case.  It is part of the twisted way depression works… it is always my fault.

But we are here to talk about good things and without a doubt it was good to share breakfast with my friend this morning.  Made me happy to talk to her a little more today… still had to bite my tongue a million times when I wanted to tell her to stay though.  It was a good afternoon… because to face the truth none of us saw morning to wake up after being up until 4 in the morning!  LOL

I am grateful for an understanding boyfriend who knows it does me good to have my friends close.  He never puts up a fuss about them coming over and that is a wonderful thing that some people don’t have.

I am really still worn out tonight so I think it is off to bed I go.  Remember to find your happiness and feel your gratitude.  Have a good night/day!
