Lucky Day?

Cloaked in his lucky sweater

He grabbed his horseshoe keychain

And opened the front door.

He walked without stepping on cracks

All the way to the store.

With fingers crossed

He removed a dollar from his clover money clip.

He put the bill into the machine

And tapped the button once;

Out came a lottery ticket.

All his life he dreaded this day

But still held out a little hope

Hope that he would win big

On this Friday the 13th.
