Happy and Grateful – Day 297 & 298

The month of October is upon us.  Fall is in full swing with the leaves gathering on the lawn… maybe a pile or two to run through even.  The evenings are getting dark earlier as the days grow shorter.  And a few of us look forward to a good scare with Halloween coming this month.  Everyday has at least some small portion of good in it.  I am looking for that good with this challenge to find my happiness and gratitude every day.  Join in with the challenge by commenting or writing your own blog… let’s find some goodness today.

I apologize for not getting my posts on last night, fatigue caught me early and unaware.  I woke up about 4:30 in the morning lights still on and laptop open on my lap still.  Lets hope I can post this without falling asleep first.

Yesterday I got to meet with a friend I used to work with and have lunch with her.  We talked for a couple of hours… it made me happy to visit with her.  And I was grateful she wanted to treat me to a late birthday lunch and picked up the tab.

Today was a worrisome day. My boyfriend was home from work because he didn’t feel well when he woke up for work.  But I had to take my Dad to the clinic and then to his Wednesday coffee group so I worried about him while I was gone.  When I got back home he was feeling a bit better so I was grateful for that.

I spent the evening playing phone tag with my daughter.  First she was busy, then I was busy, but we finally connected and talked a little bit and that made me happy.

Now I must find sleep… before it finds me.  Remember to find your happiness and feel your gratitude.  Have a good night/ day!

(Oh man, I had it all written and just needed to put tags on it and send it out into the blogging world… so close.  Oh well, please forgive me again!)

Happy and Grateful – Day 296

Fall is really showing her true colors today.  It was windy and cooler today.  Leaves were flying everywhere.  We had to go out in the blustery weather as our microwave reached its demise.  We were able to find a new one at a reasonable price.  I was grateful it didn’t cost us too much.

My happy moment is harder to come by.  Been hurting a little more with the drop in temperatures and no sun again today brings my mood down.  But when we were out getting our new microwave I did see someone I had worked with and miss seeing all the time.  It made me happy to see her again.

Now to post this before I fall asleep… the errands and weather has taken it out of me.  Remember to find your happiness and feel your gratitude.  Have a great night/day!

(oops…. I did fall asleep first.  Sorry, this is a little late!)

Happy and Grateful – Day 295

The month of October is upon us.  Fall is in full swing with the leaves gathering on the lawn… maybe a pile or two to run through even.  The evenings are getting dark earlier as the days grow shorter.  And a few of us look forward to a good scare with Halloween coming this month.  Everyday has at least some small portion of good in it.  I am looking for that good with this challenge to find my happiness and gratitude every day.  Join in with the challenge by commenting or writing your own blog… let’s find some goodness today.

Had a rough day with my depression.  I did however feel a little less “alone” this evening when I found a program on public television called “It is ‘Just’ Anxiety” obviously about anxiety.  It had about 5 or 6 different people dealing with different forms of anxiety and talking about how they felt.  It was like it was my life a couple of them were talking about.  The show made me cry more than once.  But it also showed these people were doing things to get better and that gave me a little hope that some day my anxiety may be further back in my mind.  So even though it made me cry it made me happy in other ways, mainly I am not the only one who feels this way.

I was grateful to have my computer tonight to help me write out some of my bad thoughts.  I wrote to my doctor and did some poetry.  I tried real hard to make something upbeat for the word prompt of the day.  But no matter how I started out, it always turned the corner back to negative so I decided not to fight it finally.  Not a great poem, but it is where my head was at.

I need to close my laptop and my eyes and hopefully find a little peace in my sleep.  I will do all I can to try to be a little more positive tomorrow.  I just take it minute by minute if I have to.  Remember to find your happiness and feel your gratitude.  Have a good night/day.
