Embrace What You Have

The couple held hands

The baby laughed and cooed

The look of despair

Filled the couple’s eyes

Christmas was coming

And they had no home

Only a meager salary

To feed and clothe them

Worried where they would sleep

Unsure how they’d stay warm

They all sat together

In the backseat of their car

Eating cold soup

As the winds howled outside

Take time to appreciate

All you have this holiday

There are those that have far less
