At First Sight

He had an idea
To make life easier
Some know how
And a little ingenuity
He was on his way
To fortune and fame
How was he to know
She had the same idea
And would be
At the patent office
On the same day
With prototypes in hand
They met at the door
Slowly smiles spreading
Across both their faces
As their gazes locked
You would think
They would fall in love…
But it was a race to the counter
To see who would
Get the patent first
