Front Row

“Ladies and gentlemen please welcome, PRISM!” The announcer stepped back from the microphone as the crowd went wild. Taking the stage was Steve, Don, Harry and Craig, better known as Prism.

Lynn and Tracy had seen the band many times before and were possibly screaming the loudest as the band started into their hit song, “Always Yours.” The teenage girls had camped out and gotten front row seats for the first time. They were determined that this would be a night like no other. As Steve smiled and winked at Tracy, they knew it was only going to get better.

First Accident

His diving was erratic. She was speeding to try to catch up with him. He had been at the bar again and she was worried about him driving home. She saw him pass a car and rushed to meet up with him, but the oncoming car prevented her from passing so she suddenly veered to the right hitting the gravel shoulder and spinning into the car she tried to pass.

Still concerned she urged the young driver to take her information and let her continued to see that her husband made it home safely.

…I was that young driver and felt sympathy for this woman’s fears. Letting her go and follow her husband. Everyone told me it was the wrong thing to do, but it was too late to change that fact. I still wonder if the two of them got home safely.

No Thank You

“And what’s this?” I asked

“It is a comprehensive list of my past lovers,” he said with a slight grin on his face.

“Why on earth would I want this? Exactly what purpose does this have?”

“I thought you might find some interesting names on there, I’ve been quite fortunate in the past. It is just to show you how special it is for you to be a part of my life.”

I paused and thought a moment, glanced at the list and said, “You can keep your list and kindly keep me off it.” And with that I left.

No Fairy Godmother Either

Life is not like a fairytale
There is no noble prince
To swoop in and save the day
When I am in distress
And there is not a trace
Of anything royal in my blood
That entitles me to riches
But I love where I come from
And I am strong enough
to save myself
living on a budget gets me by
but most of all
I am rich in friendship and love
And that is worth more than
Any gold and jewels

Time

It is time again
Life has gotten too chaotic
Time to slow down
Leave the errands
And the chores undone
It is time to schedule
Something special for you and I
Time to soothe our senses
Take time to discover each other again
Like when our love was new
And our passion was high
Some soft music, candlelight and wine
Your arms around me
Our hearts beating as one
It’s time to let desires rule the night

Sudden Silence

A question is on my mind
Will you take the time to answer it
Do I even really want to know
I debate with myself
Should I ask or let it go
I fear the worst
But keep holding onto hope
I have been puzzled by your actions
There has been such a dramatic change
I used to be a part of your life
Day in and day out
Now I seem to be a distant memory
So I want to know
Do I still matter to you

Mumbles … Balance

It is near the end of the time originally planned to stay with my Dad. It has been hard to keep my life in balance while I am helping him out. Thankfully my boyfriend has been very understanding while I have been gone 12 hours a day. Of course a lot of that time he would be asleep, but I still miss him.

Dad is doing better. He is still having issues with shortness of breath but the pulmonologist is happy with his scans so it is just what he has to deal with now I guess. I am sure if he would put down the pipe and cigarettes that would help. He has one more visit from the physical therapist on Friday and then we decide how much help he still needs and how much help he can afford… home health aides are far from free.

My sister and I have talked about maybe him having some help three days a week then we each get two days… that would be easier on all of us. It is just a matter of seeing what Dad wants too. I know being a night owl has been hard on him with people coming in to help out in the morning,

So I try to spend time with both my Dad and my boyfriend and I get to throw in a little me time to keep my sanity balanced, or at least attempt to. And it is once again time to post this, pack up my stuff and head to Dad’s. I will me back to try to catch up more tomorrow. I hope you all have a good night/day! (((HUGS)))

Threadbare Love

You weave your love
In and out of my life
Like a tapestry of confusion
One minute bright and happy
The next dark and abandoned
Each thread creates a new image
There are pictures of hope
And those of despair
Portrayals of passion
And of pure animosity
It is time to find the flaw
And unravel this nightmare
Leaving behind only memories
Tattered and undone
