I keep it hidden
Deep inside a drawer
The one thing you ever gave me
It was a poem written for me
In the darkness of the night
One of longing and love
And a little bit of passion
It was just before I lost you
To the injustice of the day to day
When someone ran a red light
And took you from me
I trace the handwritten words
Every once in a while
Remembering your strong hands
And the way you touched my skin
Then tenderly I return it
To the safety of its home
Until I need that reminder
Of how real our love once was

Thank you!
Sure!
A melancholy tale.
🙂
This was brilliant and inspiring writing.
I keep it hidden
Deep inside a drawer
The one thing you ever gave me
It was a poem written for me
Thank you… you’re going to make me blush!
