The After Party

They were at a party
The wine was flowing
She grew more and more agitated
He was downing glass after glass

It was his car they came in
And she would not let him drive
They went home in silence
The tension was high

When they arrived home
She left him alone
Unwilling to talk to him
He wouldn’t remember anyway

But when morning came
Her anger still fresh
She rebuked his decisions
To be so irresponsible

A fight ensued
And she finally thought
Enough of this life
I’d rather be alone

She packed her things
And left him with the bottle
Begging one more time
That he should get some help
