Turning the Tables

She hears your voice

When you first wake up

That half tired

Deep morning mumble

That sounds so sexy

She sees you first

Fresh out of the shower

Hair still wet

Towel around your waist

Smelling of soap

She tastes your

Lingering breakfast

As you get ready for work

The same every morning

Toast with jam and cream in your coffee

She starts her day with you

Embraced in a hug

A passionate goodbye kiss

And an “I love you babe”

With that sultry smile of yours

I settle for

A hello and a grin

And a “what was your name”

While dreaming it was me with you

And she who was the one jealous
