Washed Up

The feeling was amazing

This awesome wave of love

Washed over my heart

The minute you said hello

We had known love before

But there was something special

About that particular night

We just clicked

And knew we were

Still hopelessly in love

Where that takes us

In the future

Is still unclear

You have her

And I have him

We do not want to hurt

Either of them

But we are determined

To ride this wave

And be drenched

In each other’s love

The Letter

“This is just ludicrous Steven!”  She walked across the room and shook the paper she was holding and said, “You really think this is the way to impress a girl?”

Looking downhearted Steven replied, “That is why I showed it to you so you could help me.  I know it’s garbage.”

“Look Steven,” Karen said.  “You are going to turn her off with all this.  You need romance and compliments.”

“Karen, can’t you help me?  I really like her and don’t want to screw things up before they even get started,” he pleaded.

“OK, but you owe me,” she demanded.

Mumbles … Verbatim

Ok, I am showing not only my age, but also the fact I will forever be a nerd.  When I saw the word was verbatim the very first thing that popped into my head was and episode of The Brady Bunch.  I don’t think they ever actually used the word verbatim, but the episode was all about following your exact words and how hard that really is.  Greg was the one all set to prove he was a man of his word and agreed to live by his exact words, only it didn’t go quite as smoothly as he had hoped.

But now that the silliness of the post is done… I will take a cue from tonight’s news.  There was talk that a West Virginia principal plagiarized Ashton Kutcher’s speech during a commencement ceremony.  I am not sure if he did the entire speech verbatim, but it appears the principal admitted to taking pieces of the speech, but claims it was his own ideas.  He said he accidentally plagiarized the speech.  If you are doing something word for word, how can it be “accidental?”

So I am going to stop babbling now before I bore everyone with my nonsense.  Tomorrow is a new day and hopefully a beautiful day for everyone!
