The Case Against Frank

Dear Judge,

I am writing to you on behalf of Frank Nuthouse.  He was ultimately in the wrong place at the wrong time.  I can tell you with 100% certainty that Frank is not a violent man.  He felt his life was in jeopardy when he fired his gun.  If I can also inform you, he passed all tests to qualify for a state concealed carry permit as he is a law abiding citizen.    It was a very unfortunate that the child chose that moment to run for his ball.  PLEASE grant Frank clemency in his case.

Julie Nuthouse

This is just an example of where our attitude on guns has gone.  When you pass the tests they should test your reaction time and mental health.  The required test here in Iowa can be taken online.  You need qualified instructors who can spot problems in potential gun carriers.  Human life is precious and there are no excuses for “accidental” shootings.

  1. Good one, Leigha. I just read an article about a five year old boy who accidentally shot and killed his four year old brother. How did that five year old get his hands on a loaded gun? How many more needless, tragic deaths will it take before something is done?

    1. I think what has really stuck with me it the fact that they are making bullet proof backpacks. Our children shouldn’t have to go to school in fear. That product really hit it home for me.

  2. Very poignant piece and I wholeheartedly agree. Gun violence is more out of control than ever and we need to stop forgetting about these extreme tragedies 2 days after they happen. When the constititional amendments were made to allow citizens to bare arms, I dont think this is what they had in mind.
