The Neighbor’s Tree

The elderly gentleman stepped onto the porch, turned towards his tree, “You kids get down from there or I will give you a good comeuppance!”

The two children in the tree stopped climbing and turned to look at the man in a puzzled manner.  The young boy said, “What’s that mean?  Are we in trouble?”  His sister looked down at him on the lower branch and said, “I think so.  We better get down.”

The old man shook his fists at the children and said, “And don’t come back, you’ll ruin my tree!”  The children hit the ground and ran.
