The Melting Point

The couple were walking with a small group as part of a tour.  It was hot this day and everyone was moving slow.  The tour guide was babbling something about flying buttresses, but Deanne had heard enough.  She leaned over and whispered to Glen, “I am so done with this tour.  The guide is boring, and I would love to have time to actually look at something before we move on.”

Glen knew how Deanne dealt with patience; poorly.  “Mr. Burroughs is trying love; they turn us loose in a half an hour if you can just…”

“Come along Mr. and Mrs. Evans.”  Mr. Burroughs had noticed the couple a few feet away from the group.  “We don’t have time to waste.  Please stay with the group.”

Deanne rolled her eyes at her husband, then turned towards the group and forcing a smile said, “Coming Mr. Burroughs.”
