Taking The Trash Out

What is all this noise

It hurts my ears

What is this ensuing chaos

It ravages my mind

These words you speak

They break my heart

So sweep the disappointments up

Remove all this trash from my sight

It is time to clean house

And get you out of my life

Taken For A Ride

The horse drawn carriage pulled up to the curb.  The young man hopped out and went to the door of the house they were in front of.  Opening the door was a beautiful young woman.  She gasped when she saw the carriage.

The man said, “your chariot awaits madam.”  He took a bow and gestured to the carriage.  The woman giggled a little and reached behind the door for her jacket.

“I just never know what you are going to do next.  You are so sweet!” she said with a beaming smile.

“Only the best for my gal,” he said.

Party On Dave

He stumbled and his friend Dave said, “Have a nice trip, see you next fall” and started laughing, loudly.  Dave was always loud and thought he was funny.  Tim knew it was mostly all really bad jokes though.

Tim told Dave, “Thanks, I am ok.  I appreciate your concern” in a very sarcastic tone.  It went unnoticed though.  Dave just kept walking and said, “How long ago did the party start?”

“It was supposed to start at 8 o’clock.  Relax, we will still be some of the first people there,” said Tim.

“I am planning on getting toasted.  Don’t let me do anything too stupid,” Dave said with a laugh.

Tim said. “Just so long as you aren’t stupid enough to join the guys in tripping out.  I guess Erik had a really bad trip at the last party,”

Dave rolled his eyes and said, “I won’t do anything (hopefully) that would jeopardize my trip to Florida next week.  And getting way out there might get me in trouble.  I only want a good beer buzzl”

Tim grabbed Dave’s shoulder and pointed to the house ahead, “This is the place Dave.”

Dave rubbed his hands together and said, “Onward, I need a beer!”

My Favorite Store

“Mom I have to do a display board for my report.  Can we go and get some supplies?”

“Yes, I need to get some supplied myself for my Christmas cards I am making.  Let’s go get some things at Hobby Lobby.”

“But you are not going to take forever, are you?  You were in there an hour last time I went with you.”

“There is a lot to see in the store.  And besides, it was only 50 minutes not an hour.”

“Picky, picky!  Hey, can we get some of those lights to use on the board?”

“Sure, we can.”

This could have easily been a conversation between me and my daughter when she was in school.  I fall into some weird time warp in the store than makes the time pass without me noticing it.  Longest I have been in there is just a little over an hour…and it felt like maybe 15 minutes.  Yes, I know I have a problem… ha, ha, ha.

Well, I have the movie Across The Universe on my mind so when I read the word for today this instantly popped into my head, but I wanted the original version.  So here is a bonus video for today before my poem.

I feel like I’m walking on air

Lost in a beautiful daze

All because of you

But I must be prudent in my actions

And take the path that is best

Just because I’m mesmerized by you

Does not necessarily make it the right decision

I won’t make that mistake again

I will keep my heart behind a cage

Until I know you are safe for me

Fandango’s Friday Flashback – November 15

This week for Fandango’s Friday Flashback we go back three years to 2016 and the post that was originally here.

Totally Tanked

Set me in front of

An ocean view cut away

Let me hear the water move

Let me see the fish swim

Set me in front of

A salt water world

Let me watch the coral breathe

Let me see the seaweed dance

…bring the sea life closer to me

Let me take in their world

from my aquarium.

Can I take a moment

To look into your eyes

To see in their reflection

The way you’re idolized

Can I feel the warm embrace

Of our entwined shared love

This connection feels like

It was sent from up above

beach couple dawn dusk

Can I show you the magic

That I feel from just your touch

Making me realize inside

Forever is not too much

Can we share eternity

Or will you turn and go

Tell me soon I beg of you

I really have to know

Mumbles … Doctor

This brought to mind all sorts of songs.  Kiss’s “Doctor Love”, Thompson Twins’ “Doctor Doctor”, Robert Palmer’s “Bad Case of Loving You”, Jackson Browne’s “Doctor My Eyes”… all good songs and I have to include Dr Hook with the music too.  No doubt there are many more with a connection to doctor.

There is always the debate over who played the best doctor in Doctor Who.  Personally, I stick with the first one I really watched and that was David Tennent, but I haven’t seen a bad doctor in the entire series, even back to the old black and white episodes.

We could talk about doctors on TV.  Personally, I keep bouncing back and forth rather or not I would like Dr House to be my doctor.  Yeah, he is a brilliant doctor.  But all the different treatments you have to go through before the diagnosis is complete, no thank you.

There are also there are the 7 doctors I see on a fairly regular basis.  Eye doctor, pulmonologist, allergy doctor, psychiatric meds doctor, psychologist, fibro doctor, and of course my primary care doctor.  Phew, that is a lot of doctors.  Luckily the appointments are usually spread out so I don’t have to go to all of them the same month.

And what discussion about doctors would be complete without mentioning the online “doctor” that makes you panic that you have the worst disease possible… Web MD.

Oh what the heck… here is one more doctor song.

Now take two aspirins and call me in the morning. 💊💊

Can I Hold Your Hand For Strength?

“Don’t rely on me.  I told you I am not reliable.”  He got into his car, slammed the door shut and was gone.  I stood there feeling disappointed, unwanted and small.  He had said just a short time ago that he would be there for me if I needed him… I need him.  I need someone to acknowledge that I am still a living being with worth.  And now he is changing his tune and making me feel like it is my own fault, that I never should have trusted him.  I feel so abandoned by someone I thought was a friend.  Maybe he will come around again.

That was nearly 10 years ago and I still think of him to this day.  He stepped into my life at a desperate time for me.  He stood by when I found out my Mom had died. He gave me his cat.  I still text him on his birthday… he never texts back anymore.  I still long for that friendship, it was one of the most honest ones I had ever had I thought.  But reality says I will likely never see him again, and that breaks my heart all over again.
