A Stitch In Time Saves Nine

She shut the door and dropped her backpack on the floor.  “Mom, what’s for dinner?”

Her mother was in the kitchen making an after-school snack for her and her daughter.  “Pot roast, Annie.”

Annie came into the kitchen and saw the plate her mom had made up and said, “Yum!  Is that for me?”

“Well, for both of us.  How did school go?”

“Oh, alright but Sheryl snagged my sweater.”

“Let me take a look at it.”

“It really is no big deal.”

“But we should fix it now so it doesn’t get much worse after it is washed.”

“Yeah, I suppose.  I’ll go upstairs and change so you can fix it.  And don’t eat all the crackers while I am gone!”
