When we were young

You were shy

And he was fun

How was I to know

The chocolates

Came from you

When all you ever did

Was softly say hello

I knew the mystery sender

Had to have been him

But when I kissed him

On the playground

I saw the tear

Fall down your check

To this day you still

Remind me of my blunder

But it started a lasting love

With me and the boy

Who gave me cordial cherries
