In Her Dreams

He stood at the curb, keys in his hands.  Her coat draped over his arm.  And he fidgeted back and forth waiting.  He looked at his watch and sighed.

He heard her heels clicking at the top of the stairs, “I am on my way Harold.”  She turned the corner towards the top of the stairs and was like a dream vision in her descent.

“You look ravishing my dear, that color really looks fantastic.  Are you wearing a new dress?”  She was suspicious, something didn’t seem right.  And then it hit her.  She woke up with only one thought, “If only he would notice me and what I wear.”
