The tension was high
A battle of highest standards
We had played a thousand times
And that estimate was low
For a good share of the time
We kept track of who won
But it has never been about winning
It is the time spent together
More like two friends sharing time
Then a mother and daughter playing
But it was a bond
And with each time we would
Roll, move and repeat
It was another laugh
Another minute
Another silent embrace
Of love from me to you
Written for Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (FOWC) – repeat
*Today has been eleven years since my Mom died and I still miss her like crazy. This is just one example of “repeat” for things she would do with me. I really miss those games. We would listen to music and laugh… good memories I hope I will never lose.
This is such a loving tribute to your mom, Leigha.
Thank you Sadje!
It’s a pleasure my friend
I’m sure these fond memories will stay with you!
