Quiet In Back

She sits in the back of the classroom

She never raises her hand

She is afraid of saying the wrong thing

She doesn’t want to be embarrassed

She blushes so easily

She speaks in the softest voice

She is painfully bashful

She can’t even speak to family

She has so much fear

She feels so alone

She is still a part of me

She needs to be treated gently

She is forever 7 years old

She is timid and shy

She comes out time to time

She is my inner child

Written for Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (FOWC) – bashful
