I discovered this quote was a part of a poem Odgen wrote in 1962. I can’t image that he knew how appropriate it would be sixty years later in regards to what progress has done to the health of our planet. It sure seems it has gone on far too long with the levels of pollution from industries and the products they created. Just plastics alone weigh the earth down with so much pollution that will not revert to any natural form years from now, only pile up more. That is why I chose this quote.
