Shelia got out of the car and stood in front of it. She unsuccessfully looked for the hood latch to open it up. A truck slowed beside her and pulled off the road in front of her. “Please don’t let it be a killer,” she said to herself.
A man in his 40s stepped out of the truck and came over to Shelia and asked, “Do you need some help?”
“Yeah, it just started smoking and I don’t know much about cars.”
“Well let me take a look. Did you pop the hood?”
“I looked for the latch but it wouldn’t work.”
The man held back a laugh and said, “you have to pop the latch with the lever in the car.”
“Oh, where’s that?”
The man said, “I’ll show you, just follow me.”
After the latch was found and the hood opened, it only took a short time for the man to find it was just an over heated radiator. “Should be good once it cools and we add a little water to it.”
Sheila thanked the man and went back to her car. The man returned to his truck and told his passenger, “She really needed a lot of help. She didn’t even know to pop the hood. Good thing I am adept at car repairs.” They both laughed and drove off, the side of the truck showing Wilson’s Automotive Repairs.
