A Warm Towel Please

“Honey I am sick of that shower downstairs.  It is always cold and drafty in the basement.  I want a shower I don’t freeze in.” she said with a pleading look in her eyes.

He took a deep breath and said, “You know we can’t do much in the basement as it still leaks a little when we get heavy rains.”

“What about renovating the upstairs bathroom?  We can hire someone to do it and we can have a warm shower when they are done.”

“Don’t you remember, we looked into that and it is just too expensive.”

“You’re right.”

In The Mirror

Standing with a towel

Wrapped around my body

I wipe the mirror of its condensation

I peer through the foggy air

Straining to see myself

The distorted image faces me

Like half a shadow

Only showing part of me

Not the whole picture

It is like my own view

Not quite sure of myself

Not knowing who I am

Like in this foggy bathroom

Eventually the view will clear

And I will see my future

Clearly before me

I only have to believe
