Darkness Ahead

The darkness comes

Slithering in like snakes

Surroundings take on new meaning

The trees turn deadly

As they reach out for you

Shadows chasing you home

The graveyard down the street

Is a birthplace of the macabre

Bodies scattered amongst the graves

Unsure of who is dead

And who is the undead

You fumble for your keys

Hoping to outdistance

The demons that haunt you

But the door creaks slowly open

Revealing a gruesome sight

And all you can do is scream

As the world turns black

turn around don’t drown

Photo by Daisa TJ on Pexels.com

the day I found you

was a dark spot

in my life

and you made me

feel wanted again

i can never repay

what you did for me

how you held me up

when I thought

i would surely drown

how you made me see

i could turn around

and start over again

i am forever

In your debt

for helping me

no longer be afraid

of the person

in the mirror

Suspense In The Dark

The lights go dark,

And all the sounds

Are amplified in my mind.

What was that?

Was that the floor creaking?

I jump as I hear

A car door close,

The sound drifting

through the window.

Then there is that noise again.

Is that someone in the house?

I feel my way to the desk

And find the flashlight

Tucked away in the drawer.

The sound comes closer

And I turn on the light.

What is it?

Whose there?

… no one will ever know

As I lay dying on the floor.

The Lies Return (FOWC)

In the dead of night
The darkness falls
Sending the masses home
Leaving a stark barren street
Echos of a distant train
Split the silence
A cat is on a silent prowl
Looking for food
And as you sleep
Dreams floating through
The madness comes to call
Sending you into nightmares
Where fate takes control
And you must meet
Your demons face to face
For the lies you told
Will always come after you
Sooner or later

The Forbidden Forest

Digimax A50 / KENOX Q2The forbidden forest beckons

Enter if you dare

Cross the witches trail

Be ready for a scare

The forbidden forest darkens

As doom seeps into the air

You begin to feel the pull

As if it drags you there

The forbidden forest wails

An eerie kind of cry

Put on your bravest face

There is no time to be shy

The forbidden forest whispers

A haunting lullaby

Keep your wits about you

Or else you might just die

The forbidden forest surrounds

As if to swallow you whole

The night gives you no guidance

The skies as black as coal

The forbidden forest echoes

As you take your final stroll

Be wise in what you say

Or a demon may steal your soul…
