Happy and Grateful – Day 335

One of my favorite months is upon us. I love the wonder of the holidays.  How it can light up young and old alike.  The weather is (usually) starting to change the world white and frosty.  And the promise of a new year is just around the corner.  This is the final month of my attempt to find the things that make me happy and grateful every day for a year… I have mixed emotions that it will be ending.  Please join me these last few days and post your happiness and gratitude in the comments or on your own blog.  There is always some good in the day no matter how small.

So thoughts now turn to getting ready for Christmas.  I did take time to go over my address lists for Christmas cards today and I think it is all current.  Although I have not got much energy back yet I was grateful to be clear minded enough today to get that done.

Finding a happy moment with a cold is a little challenging, but I would have to say my boyfriend helped to make that happen today.  He had his discount shopping night (a company thank you for working on Thanksgiving) and although I was not up for shopping he did a good job of getting us some food to stock up with.  I was happy he managed to find several good deals.

Now to post this before I fall asleep again, I already was out once.  Remember to find your happiness and feel your gratitude.  Have a wonderful night/day!

Happy and Grateful – Day 91

We have reached the month of April and I am still on course to post daily with my happiness and gratitude I have found.  Please join in if you feel like doing this too by sharing in the comments or on your own blog.  There is so much to be happy and grateful for.

My daughter came through for me again.  She was in need of more comfort food and she texted me to fix green bean casserole for dinner tonight and she would stop after work to eat.  We already had to go to the store so we picked up what we needed along with the rest of our list.

It was actually a great day for the store too.  They have a savings card that when you buy certain sale items you get a discount on gas at their gas station.  In just our one day shopping trip we added enough point the next time we fill up we will save $2.06/gallon – that ought to be a cheap tank of gas!  (Something also to be happy and grateful for!)

So we had dinner all ready for my daughter when she got off of work.  And he had seconds of the casserole even.  We chatted and watched some of RuPaul’s Drag Race on demand… the new season has started.  It turned out to be a good night.

I am happy my daughter expressed her cravings and we had some good food tonight.  I am grateful she was able to visit a while after eating.

Day 80 – 100 Days of Happiness

I know I mentioned before that my boyfriend had to work on Thanksgiving.  We adapted our dinner to a different day and really didn’t mind too much as we still had a time for family to be together.  The really nice thing though is that because he worked that day he earned a special discount shopping night where instead of saving 10% on purchases he saved 25%.  So we had a long shopping trip tonight stocking up the pantry and buying a few Christmas gifts.  We kept it within our budget and found some good deals.  Shopping is always more fun when you can do it with bargains.  And I am now a few gifts closer to being done with Christmas shopping too.
