A to Z Challenge – Y

The letter Y …

April is drawing to a close.  May starts on Friday and I look forward to a new goal.  I have such messed up sleep patterns with my fibro, that I am not setting the bar really high.  I want to start a workout a week until the 15th then two workouts a week and I will try to keep that up for a while before I consider three.  Almost 2 years ago I got a morning yoga DVD that I did maybe twice before I opted for the pool.  Now with some of the covid19 shutdowns there is no pool time, so I NEED to get back into some sort of exercise.  Yoga done gently doesn’t usually produce a lot of pain the next day for the fibro.  I just will take it easy.  I am going to need time to get the movements right anyway.  I absolutely loved the yoga/pilates class I took years ago before my health decline.  I know I can’t do that intense of a workout but this gentle yoga I think I can do… slowly.  I will bid April goodbye tomorrow and be grateful for a yoga workout plan starting Friday.

Wedding Ready

“What are you doing Sara,” her mom asked as she walked up to her room.  The radio was up loud and apparently Sara did not hear her mom.  So, once again she asked what she was doing as she flipped the lights on.

“Oh, hi mom!  I am just doing a little exercise,” Sara said through a heavy breath.

“What prompted this suddenly?” Her mom asked.

Sara smiled and said, “I am going to be in Diane’s wedding next fall, and I want to look good for it.”

“You look fine just the way you are… well without all that sweat you have right now!”  Her mom chuckled and added, “Don’t overwork yourself.  Dinner is in an hour.”

“Thanks mom!”

Day 79 – 100 Days of Happiness

Today was my weekly doctor visit.. I was tired and I hurt but I forced myself to walk the block to the clinic.  It was still nearly 40°F out today and with this being the first of December I know we are not going to have temps above freezing much longer.  So I made myself walk today and I was happy I did it.  I still hurt worse when it was done, I felt exhausted when I got there but it was something good for me accomplished for the day.

I think today made me want to get back to the warm water therapy I did for a while.  It was an exercise I could do that did not cause near as much pain due to the low impact, but it was still a workout.  If I had the money that is what I would do at least 2 to 3 times a week, but pool time costs and that is not a luxury I can have right now.  So I stick with the short walks when I can get them as long as the weather holds out.
