The Grimm Truth

“I love the stories of changelings and the thought that the Fey were these ancient, capricious creatures who were tricky and dangerous. I’ve always preferred the Brothers Grimm faery tales to the Disney fairy tales.”Julie Kagawa

Disney tales are fine, but a lot of the lore involved with the Brothers Grimm fairy tales has more realistic views of the unknown. There is both good and evil in most living things, it all depends on your point of view. While this is a picture of a cute innocent fairy, I can see someone who would think of a way to turn the tables on you for her own benefit. No one can be good all the time… ha, ha!

I’d Call Him Anthony Tobias

I ride a majestic white unicorn

Across fields of purple flowers

We slow down by a fairy circle

Watching the diminutive dance

A slow pace takes us to the river’s edge

The unicorn drinks while I dream

Thoughts of princes and grand balls

Waltz through my mind

Just as the unicorn lays beside me

A melody drifts across the wind

I wake and begin to hum along

The music growing louder shattering my peace

KDRB blasts my good morning music

And I am in my bed facing a normal reality

But I grin in remembrance of the dream

Wishing I had a unicorn of my own

As I walked through the woods

I happened upon a mushroom

There I saw the fairies dance

In the sunlight beam

And elves did laugh

From a nearby tree

As birds sang out a tune

That transformed me in time

The wind carried me to a place

Where I had been before

And seen the leaves turn golden

Like Midas had been there

The sky had turned both blue and pink

With rolling puffy clouds

But when I took a step away

It vanished in a flash

Still I wonder if it was even real

Or all just in my mind…
