Falling Free

People always talk

About falling in love

But what about the other side

What about falling out of love

Do you get too comfortable

Too expectant of each other

Take each other for granted

No longer overlooking

Those annoying little flaws

Bitterness sneaking in

On the edge of hating

And anger under the surface

Resenting the lost years

Then the hitting of rock bottom

When the damage is done

And goodbyes are all that is left

Flaws And All

Be who you are, don’t over compensate

For what you feel are your flaws

Where there is love there should be understanding

They shouldn’t make you feel inferior

If they do, maybe it wasn’t meant to be

Be strong and proud of yourself

Every inch of you, good and bad

Remember they say true love is blind

(Just a gentle reminder to myself to be proud of who and ALL that I am.  Do you ever struggle with accepting your own flaws?)
