I’m Here

A shoulder to cry on

Will always be yours

I may not understand

But I can offer empathy

For you are always

Held within my heart

A friend until the end

Don’t face the pain alone

I may not have the answers

But I can listen well

And will support you

For you are always

Held within my heart

A friend until the end

When the world overwhelms

I may be in the same situation

And I can stand by you

To face all adversities

For you are always

Held within my heart

A friend until the end

To Me

Carry my heart with you
It is already yours
I gave it to you years ago
And never got it back
A part of me will always
Belong only to you
For you were the one
Who helped me find my strength
Your impact in my life
Has never been forgotten
And as you move on through life
I hope you will remember
Somewhere deep inside
Is a little piece of someone
Who will love you endlessly
Because of who you were to me

Master Magician

don’t lie to me
this was just an illusion
you seeming to care
when you had no intention to
you came in and stole my heart
apparently to be by my side
but that was just for show
one minute you’re there
then the next you have
vanished

Not Right

My body is broken
It doesn’t work right
Is it because of disease
Or are the genetics not right

My mind is out of order
It doesn’t work right
Is it chemicals flowing
Or is the brain just not right

My heart is wrecked
It doesn’t work right
Is it just bad heartache
Or is the muscle not right

My joints are not moving
They don’t work right
Is it the stress I’ve placed on them
Or is the bone not right

My life is in the balance
It is not working right
Is it a bug in the software
Or is the hardware not right

Something New

I’ve felt this before
It is nothing new
A hollow empty feeling
As you walk away from me

I have seen this before
It is nothing new
A dark vacant doorway
As you leave me alone

I have endured this pain before
It is nothing new
A breaking of my heart
As you turn again to her

I will no longer stay like before
This is something new
A strength I feel inside
As I pack my things and go

Cruel Words

Take my heart
It is barely beating
Place it in a small box
It may be compact
But it will fit
Now close it up tight
Seal it to keep everyone out
Place it on a shelf up high
For I want no one to touch it
It has been taking hits all week
It needs a place to feel
Safe and out of his reach
At least for today
Now no one can hurt me again

My Heart

Don’t touch it
It is about to break
It has been used too much
Worn down over the years
Until it is just a shell
Delicate and fragile
Please don’t try to hold it even
For I am sure it’s too brittle
To withstand the slightest hope
That could be felt on a breeze
All of the elusive strength it has left
Must be saved for me
To sustain life only
Alone with my memories
And faded dreams

Enough

Fire in my heart
Desire in my body
Thoughts only of you
But it will never be
You see me only
As a friend
Someone to talk to
Not a body worth touching
Someone to laugh with
Not a heart to beat with
But in my eyes
We are bound by more
We know each other so well
We are souls entwined
In a closeness that is
A once in a lifetime union
If only I could be enough for you

My Heart

It sat in the corner
Covered with dust
Back in the shadows
Forgotten about
For too many years
Does it still even work

I reached gently back
Through the cobwebs
To retrieve the object
Wondering of its worth
And rusted condition
Does it still even work

I weigh the options
Of picking it up
And looking for signs of life
Knowing it might be too old
Too battered and worn
Does it still even work

Hesitation aside
I gently grasp it
Felling the faintest of hope
A gentle spark of life
Wondering if this is really love
Does it still even work
