She was the runt of the litter
Too small to live on the farm
She could barely climb the stairs
To reach the food dishes
My daughter begged me
“Please can we save her”
“She is too tiny to be outdoors”
“I promise I’ll take care of her”
I gave in
I caved at her cuteness
And in no time
I was wrapped around her paw
Now we call her the princess
And we would be lost without her
