To my dismay

And sadness filled my heart

Sometimes it feels

Like I am in a conspiracy

The fates or cupid

Have it out for me

They get my hopes up

Then dash them with goodbyes

Will I ever find a lasting love

Will the next one be the right one

All I can do is wait and hope

That one day my love will come

And I can be happy at last
