Poof, I’m Gone

I have had to ask

More than once

Do I matter

You turn silent

You are distant

And our time is short

Once again

You close your mouth

Your eyes are averted

And you make yourself scarce

I’m getting tired of wondering

If I still matter to you

I may no longer ask

And just follow your lead

And disappear
