Happy and Grateful – Day 202

July brings fireworks, picnics, pools and air conditioning. It is a time for those of us in the USA to celebrate our “birthday” and a personal time for me to celebrate life. It is hot and humid days and thunderstorms cooked up at night. I am continuing my challenge to find happiness and gratitude in every day. Join along in the comments or on your own blog. There is always good in every day.

For us there was a little bit of relief today… it rained.  It was not much but it was enough that it was about 10 degrees cooler.  The grass is still brown and we need a lot more rain, but it is a start.

I paid today for being up so late last night.  I took about 3 naps and still fought my eyelids from closing.  I am definitely going to be sleeping earlier tonight.  I was however grateful to be able to take the naps I did today.

Tonight I let my inner child out.  The movie Matilda was on TV and there is something about that movie that just makes me happy inside.  I really needed it tonight.  I will take my happiness where I can get it!

Now I will try to escape a little bit in a book and soon drift off to sleep.  I hope you find something to be grateful for in your weekend.

Another hot day, a good day for being indoors in the air conditioning.  I love the flowers and everything green and growing this time of year, but it is so hot!  Humidity is 86% right now… so sticky out!

Today I didn’t have anything I had to do so I let my boyfriend take the car to work today and I slept in… it was wonderful to wake up when my body said it was time and not a blaring alarm.  I was grateful for that.

Tonight when I went to get some dinner for my dad he was in the middle of watching a movie.  I can’t give it a full review as I only saw a little of it, but my dad said it was worse than a B movie, it was a C or D flick.  So I sat there with him and watched the end of it while we made fun of it.  It made me happy to joke with him a while tonight.

It is late and I should let my eyes rest.  I hope you remember to find your happiness every day!

Happy and Grateful – Day 153 and 154

June brings warmer weather and the start of summer.  Hopefully it brings many ideas from my muse too.  I continue to write for my challenge to find the things that make me happy and grateful each day this year.  Please feel free to join me in this challenge with comments about your happiness and gratitude or start your own blog.  There is always something good to find in each day.

Sorry for putting two days together again.  The heat and humidity bring more pain and fatigue and I was out before I could write.  But I am here now so let’s get this done before I close my eyes again.  LOL

Yesterday was movie night.  We got Doctor Strange from the library and my daughter came over to watch it with us.  We ordered pizza and watched through dinner.  Well, my daughter and I watched; my boyfriend dozed off a bit here and there.  It always makes me happy to spend time with my daughter.  I was grateful we could spring for the good pizza place and share in a great meal.

Today was a pretty quiet day.  I took a couple of short naps and got further behind on my reading.  So I decided to post this before I did the daily prompt and hope to catch up tomorrow.

My boyfriend stayed home from work with stomach issues and I was grateful he felt better by the time evening rolled around.  I was bothered with more pain so we just had a quiet evening of watching Banshee on DVD.  I am grateful for the quiet times so I can get a chance to recharge and hopefully feel better the next day.

**I fell asleep before I had finished this yet again so I am apologizing once more for how late I am with this post.  I am hoping this fatigue eases up on me a bit soon.  Here’s hoping that I can get through a post tonight…  now I am off to catch up on my reading!

Happy and Grateful – Day 119

We have reached the month of April and I am still on course to post daily with my happiness and gratitude I have found.  Please join in if you feel like doing this too by sharing in the comments or on your own blog.  There is so much to be happy and grateful for.

This month is fading fast… and I think Mother Nature is in need of a reality check,  We had 70°F weather in winter and now 30-40°F weather in the spring.  That is mixed up!  Add in the rain and it was a good day for being inside wrapped in warmth of some kind.  I spent most of the day in a sweatshirt.

No late night card games this time… my friend has to get up “early” for a lunch date.  So the three of us watched a movie instead.  It was Deja Vu with Denzel Washington.  It was a very good movie with lots of action and a little science fiction thrown in too.

Over all it was a good day, pretty quiet and relaxed.  I am happy I had some time to talk, just us girls, with my friend.  And I am grateful that the rain stopped while I was headed to my Dads to fix him dinner – I am finding the older I get, the less I like driving in the rain.  BUT I will still take it over snow and ice anytime!

(Sorry this is posted late…. darn fatigue and meds hit faster than I thought they would last night!)

Happy and Grateful – Day 80

As March begins I continue with my goal to find happiness and gratitude every day.  There is at least some small thing that can bring a smile and give you a moment to be grateful for.  Please join me in looking for the good moments of the day … it would be great if you would share them in the comments or on your own blog.  Be aware of the little wonders of the day!

I have been feeling a little down lately.  For about a million reasons, but I am not going to go into it all here.  I would almost describe it as just never wanting to smile.  Today I did have a moment or two I not only smiled I laughed.

My daughter took me to a movie today.  We went and saw the live action version of Beauty and the Beast.  They stayed pretty close to the original, I was favorably impressed with the added areas.  I won’t go into details of the movie to spoil it for anyone who is planning on going, but it was not word for word like the animated movie.  And of course spending time with my daughter always makes me happy.  I am grateful we were able to find the time this week to go.

Happy and Grateful – Day 64

As March begins I continue with my goal to find happiness and gratitude every day.  There is at least some small thing that can bring a smile and give you a moment to be grateful for.  Please join me in looking for the good moments of the day … it would be great if you would share them in the comments or on your own blog.  Be aware of the little wonders of the day!

Today was a little bit better day… but I think I over did it and will pay tomorrow.  I still enjoyed myself so it was worth it.  My daughter and I went to the theater to see La La Land.  It was good.  I wont ruin it for anyone but the music was good and there was dancing… I really would like to hope its success will help musicals make a comeback.

My daughter and I then ran a couple of errands and stopped to get some coffee.  She has been busy with work so I have not seen her as often as I would like so it really made me happy to spend the afternoon with her.  I was grateful the flare had finally subsided a bit to let me enjoy the time.  Now if I can just move when I wake up tomorrow… LOL. (I have to laugh or I might just want to cry)

Day 6 – 100 Days of Happiness

This has been a pretty hectic weekend that was kicked off with my Dad’s trip to the ER for a fall and kept rolling right through this afternoon.  So today’s moment of happiness was sitting down after dinner to quietly watch a zombie movie.  I laughed a few times, jumped once and was happy to see the good guys win in the end.  We have had so many zombie movies and TV shows though, I was joking with my boyfriend when I said, “You know if zombies ever come to reality we will all go for the head shots and watch that not be the real way to kill them.”  Here’s to hoping we never have to find out!
