New Love

A gamble on love. | Love ❤ | Love cards, Love heart, I love heart

It’s risky taking unknown steps

Blindly heading into tomorrow

The odds can be against you there

Are you headed for more sorrow

Roll the dice

Take a chance

Gamble on new love

He fills your dreams

Both night and day

The time has come

To go out and play

Roll the dice

Take a chance

Gamble on new love

This time your luck is true

No more feelings of blue

Roll the dice

Take a chance

Gamble on new love

You’re ready for new love

Closed For Repairs

Can we even fix this

Is there an easy way

To fall in love again

Distant for so long

It seems we are strangers

if only we can rectify

the space between you and I

and find a way to embrace

what we discover as the start

of something brand new

My Heart

It sat in the corner
Covered with dust
Back in the shadows
Forgotten about
For too many years
Does it still even work

I reached gently back
Through the cobwebs
To retrieve the object
Wondering of its worth
And rusted condition
Does it still even work

I weigh the options
Of picking it up
And looking for signs of life
Knowing it might be too old
Too battered and worn
Does it still even work

Hesitation aside
I gently grasp it
Felling the faintest of hope
A gentle spark of life
Wondering if this is really love
Does it still even work

Confession

“I have to be candid,
I have to speak the truth,
I love you”
She said to him.
He only said “No.”
Her heart stopped
For a second
That seemed like an eternity.
“You haven’t known me
Long enough to love me”
He added.
She swallowed back tears
“I know what is in my heart”
She told him with renewed confidence,
And he breathed
A heavy sigh.
“You don’t have to say anything,
Just know that I love you”
She said in almost a whisper
And kissed him softly.
He reached out to hold her
And they slept in
Each others arms.

Beginnings

He smiles at her

She silently acknowledges him

He sends her a free drink

She sends an approving nod

He slowly approaches her

She gestures to the open chair next to her

They talk for hours

He turns on the charm

They laugh and dance

She feels like a school girl

He walks her to her car

She succumbs to his kiss goodnight

And thus their story begins…

Point Of View

I used to be so focused

On anything I’d do

But now my mind wanders

Often thinking about you

My thoughts are distractions

That pull my point of view

Away from what I’m doing

To thinking of what’s new

You came into my life

Like a runaway train

Now my thoughts all scatter

Running round in my brain

Whatever you’ve done to me

One thing is quite clear

I’ve no desire for it to end

I want to keep you near
