Not Done Yet

Gretchen pulled her gloves on and turned towards the door.  Her mom was in the other room and said, “Make sure you do the driveway too.”

It was her onus to keep the walks cleared of snow in the winter and she didn’t like it anymore.  When she was first old enough to help her Dad clear the walks, she thought it was fun.  But she only helped with small snow falls.  Today there was 6 inches of wet heavy snow and her Dad was at work.

She finished the last of the driveway and was putting the shovel away, when a city plow went by and pushed more snow into the bottom of the drive.  With a sigh she picked up the shovel again and headed back to the driveway.
