A Watched Pot Never Boils

Time will tic eternally slow

When you expect someone to visit

The wait for dinner can be forever

When you haven’t eaten all day

In school the last class of the day

Is always longer than the rest

We struggle to stay calm

When we wait to surprise someone

And that last day before vacation

Never seems to end

We must learn patience

But only time will tell

Because a watched pot never boils

He’s Gone

Your eyes tell a story
No words could explain
The pain
The heartache
The loss
The emptiness
All come forward
Without a word spoken
Your expression speaks volumes
And I could never begin
To ease your discomfort
With mere words of love and hope
All I can offer you
Is a shoulder to cry on
Two arms to hold you
And patience as you heal

The Path To Love

Patience –
Waiting for you
To be true
Leaving me blue

Hope –
Wishing for more
With your hand on the door
Me crying on the floor

Pain –
I continue to cry
Hurting to say goodbye
Aware you wouldn’t even try

Awakening –
Beginning to see it was best
Your love was in jest
My life regained zest

Love –
I began to look to me
For a feeling that was free
And filled me with glee
