Happy and Grateful – Day 272

The kids are all in school, there is a growing crisp in the air.  Football games and shorter days fill the weeks.  It is September.  I have accomplished another month of acknowledging my happiness and gratitude every day.  Join me as I continue my goal of one year on this journey.  Please join in with your happiness and gratitude in the comments or your own blog post.  No matter how bad the day is there is always something worthwhile in the day.

*Yawn*  I am posting this after a very short “nap” last night.  I didn’t get home from the hospital until almost 2am and had to eat something so it was nearly 3 when I fell asleep only to wake up at 7 and be wide awake.  Oh, I bet you are wondering about the whole hospital thing.

I went to visit my Dad and get him some dinner when he was complaining about his leg.  It was painful, swollen and tender to the touch.  After a call to First Nurse she said to take him to the ER.  So Dad finished his dinner and away we went.  After several tests they found only what appears to be a pool of blood in the tissue of the leg that was likely from a bump he was unaware of.  No blood clots.  No problems with the hip replacement.  I am grateful they did not keep him overnight.  It is now just a matter of elevation, ice and time.

So needless to say I was happy to get home to my comfy chair and some food.  I had been running some errands with my boyfriend during the day and never did eat lunch after only having a honey bun for breakfast.  I was so hungry.  So I reheated dinner that my boyfriend had already made.

Now I need to get ready for a birthday party… wrap the gifts I was going to wrap last night and maybe catch another nap before we have to be there.  Remember to find your happiness and feel your gratitude.  Have a good night/day!
