Don’t construe what I say

As something it isn’t

I am just speaking facts

We are good for each other

We support our goals

We can sit in silence

We can talk for hours

In my observations

I feel there is emotion here

You label it what you will

I believe it is love

Let Love Be Ours

Life had become so hectic

The gym, the store, the volunteer center

Lessons, sports and homework for the kids

The vet, the business trip, the salon

All these things filled our days

We never had time for each other

Now we hear stories of how

Families have come together

Mealtime around the table has returned

Game night is now a thing

Movie watching and show binges

All make the day pass quickly

Yes there are things we miss

But think of how much we have gained

If there is a silver lining to every cloud

Let love be ours

And we remember the togetherness

When we reach the end of this crisis

Together

She was sending another set of lyrics to her friend Sam.  He was in a local band and they had collaborated to set one of her poems to music.  She was over the moon hearing him sing “her song.”  Now she had written three more hoping one of them was good enough for music and they could collaborate again.

In just a week her phone rang, and he was calling with good news.  He had talked to his friend in New York and he loved the song and wanted to buy it.  She almost fainted.  Her dream was coming true.

Together

I can surmount the pain
I can defeat the feelings of despair
I can triumph over my demons

only if you are in my corner
only if you stand by my side
only if you give me your strength

together we will survive
together we will thrive
together we will live

Day 5 – Together

The trash talk was flying… I had been challenged.  All week my daughter and I have been going back and forth claiming to be ready to put the other into the poor house in Monopoly.  The battle was set to start tonight after we all got together for a pizza dinner.  My daughter, my boyfriend, a brief appearance by our cat and I all set down to battle.  I thought I had the world in my hands when I purchased both Boardwalk and Park Place.  But fate would prove to have different plans for me.  I fell first, then my boyfriend, and my daughter did truly reign as the Monopoly champion tonight.  Even in a loss I easily found my moment of happiness tonight.20160917_2240411
