Remember

I sit and wonder

If it would be worth it

Should I take the plunge

Walk across the room

And talk to you

Take a minute to say hi

I am not sure

Maybe you wont remember

What we once had

Was oh so long ago

But I have not forgotten

And long to hear your laugh

Before the chance escapes

I stand up to make my move

Uncertain and a little scared

But this is it

Now or never

Questions Still Linger

I have questions I want to ask

There are so many things

That seem uncertain

I know you cared once

But do you still now

Do you find me pretty

Or am I aged past my prime

I know the world is scary now

But that should pull us closer

Not force us further apart

And a sickening feeling returns to me

When I realize you are too drunk to answer

It puts me back where I once was

With the millions of heartbreaks I had

So please take a moment

Clear your head

And tell me

Do you still want me

A Too Familiar Stench

Alcohol is a filthy word

When you speak it,

You slur the word so bad…

You crawl to the bed

And ask me to understand,

You needed an escape…

You pass out instead of sleep

And the stress we share,

For me, has just been doubled…

I cannot speak,

I am the one numb now

Uncertain what tomorrow will bring…
