Forever Changed

There can be no friends luncheon

No holiday dinners with all the family

Not an evening soiree

Or even a Tupperware party

Towns are shut down

And people are kept apart

But worse than all that

Is the realization that things

May never again be the same

As the population dwindles

And frustrations grab hold

Will there remain peace

On the too quiet streets

Or will this virus win

One way or another

So Many Changes

My sister can no longer

Carouse the downtown bars

My daughter has to limit

The customers at her job

My elderly neighbor fears

He will be the first to go

I worry about my asthma

Will it become out of control

The news is constantly on

Governments adding more rules

I wonder about the kids

Will they learn like they did at school

One day we will come out

On the other side

Until then hang on

This virus is a bumpy ride
