You laughed when you saw it
A beautiful young girl
Who slipped on the ice
You found it hilarious
I feared she was hurt
You brushed it aside
Like you didn’t even hear it
The words of pain
I poured out to you
That hot August night
You thought it was crazy
To take the time to help
Someone that was struggling
With a baby in their arms
And no food to feed her
You didn’t even stop
And giving a fleeting glimpse back
The day you left me
With tears in my eyes
And empty thoughts of the future
How did you become so shallow
That you laughed at the broken
Turned on a friend
Ignored the helpless
And abandoned love
Since you are gone now
I will never know…

Poignant.
Thanks Sandy!
You are most welcome.
There truly are callous people who get a kick out of these things. Perfectly written.
Thank you Drew!
