compose a tale
one of you and me
one of hopes and dreams
one of a wonderful future
the past has escaped us
and presently life is a mess
so take the time to
compose a tale
one of love and light
one of wishes and desires
one of you and me

The children both reached for the red ball at the same time. A look of surprise instantly went across their faces. They may be twins and like the same things, but it was bad when they wanted the same toy and the yelling began
The babysitter had been in the kitchen preparing their dinner when the fight began. She had to go into the livingroom to intervene the fight over the ball. She explained how they could both play with it if they took turns and how important sharing was. That was all the twins needed to hear. They instantly started rolling the ball back and forth between them in an indoor game of “catch.”

Why does it hurt so much?
Why did he have to go?
Questions that will never be answered
It’s not for me to know
I must only endure the loss
And keep my head held high
Ignore all the questions
Let them wither and die
He was a part of me for many years
and he gave so much to me
but this just hasn’t been easy
when all I want to do is be free

“What do you want me to do, denounce him in front of everyone?” The woman was in the office of her boss.
“That may be the only way he will learn. I will take full responsibility. The facts need to be told.”
“Facts are one thing, but this… are you sure?”
“Yes, I am sure.”
The woman left the office and went to the room at the end of the hall. There she stepped into her classroom and addressed the students. “I have news to tell you all. Johnny wont be joining us in class any longer. He is being taken to a special school where they can help him. He didn’t realize what he did was wrong and so now he has to learn. With any luck he will be able to return to us soon.”
A little girl raised her hand. “What did Johnny do wrong?”
“He tried to bite the principal, but obedience training should take the bite, but not the bark out of our friend.”

Cartoons are not the same. As a kid growing up your choices for cartoons were pretty limited. We did have a local weekday show for kids that would run some cartoons, but mainly it was waiting in anticipation for Saturday morning to arrive when we could sit in front of the TV all morning and watch cartoons. Now you have a very limited amount of Saturday morning cartoons to watch, but there are a couple of cable channels that offer round the clock kids programing.
My favorite series has to be Looney Tunes. Then it is a tie between Bugs Bunny and Marvin the Martian. Bugs is one smart little rabbit and always seems to know how to manipulate things to his advantage. Marvin is shear determination and yet somehow makes me feel sad for him… “Where is the kaboom? There was suppossed to be an earth shattering kaboom.”
I have seen some of the “new” cartoons and they are not bad. I know when my daughter was little we would watch Rugrats, The Powerpuff Girls and Spongebob pretty regularly. And has always been the case, the best cartoons are those that throw in a little adult content that just flies right over the kid’s heads but makes mommy and daddy laugh.
Yeah, I think kids today lose out on that anticipation of waiting for Saturday morning cartoons. The world is instant now with episodes a few keystrokes away or the push of a few buttons of the remote. I think that anticipation made my generation appreciate Saturdays a little bit more. What was your favorite cartoon?

It is a never ending cycle
I have a day that is good
Then I pay for it
With pain and sorrow
For days to follow
I fool myself I’m normal
If only for a short time
Then have reality
Smack me in the face
But no matter
How many times I fall
I get back up and try
Just for a few moments
Of real happiness

At the intersection of love and despair
I tried to forget you and no longer care,
But the pain from your loss was much too great.
I still loved you; I learned from my inner debate.
I wanted to hate you, for what you had done,
But it was hopeless you were still the one.
The one that I loved most and always will,
And that blunt honesty is a bitter pill.
So I’ll sit here forever at love and despair,
Because the one thing I’ve learned is, I’m going nowhere.

Good girls and boys
Dream of lots of toys
While sleeping sound
Santa travels around
Bringing lots of joys
It is a magical night
The big man is in flight
He flies with his reindeer
Traveling far and near
It really is quite a sight
