A World Beyond The Window

She stares out the window

Lost in a dream

Trying to find solutions

To life’s inequality.

A pensive look

Upon her face

She hopes for peace

And an end to hate.

She knows it will be

A long uphill climb

But the reward will be worth it

No more violence in the street

She stares out the window

Lost in a dream…

A to Z Challenge – E

The letter E…

I am sitting in my chair suddenly realizing that this is (was, technically since it is after midnight here) Monday.  I am so mixed up with my days right now… anyway.  I have a home (more on that at a later date) but I have a much larger home in the fact that I am an Earthling.  No, I am not going to talk about extra-terrestrials or spaceships.  I am talking about all of us sharing one home planet Earth.  With this pandemic that is spreading worldwide it has shown what a large community we can actually be seen as.  Each nation is a house and we are all in the same neighborhood.  I feel this could be a time to learn more about working together.  I know I have heard the countries having reached their peak and are recovering are sharing PPE and ventilators.  This planet has sustained life for a lot of years.  And I would kind of like to see it continue doing so for a long while.  We can work together; we can put the weapons down.  I am grateful to be standing on planet Earth.

Let Bygones Be Bygones

Let troubles of the past

Fall by the wayside

Forgive those who caused pain

Because holding onto it

Will only keep it fresh

And on your mind

Bring peace back to your life

Just let bygones be bygones

Move Ahead Never Behind

Ahead the trees still call my name

Traces of my dreams they still remain

Behind is all that I have lost

Friends and family what a cost

Ahead is peaceful and so quiet

Never filled with chaos and riots

Behind is where I ran away

To places I never thought I’d stay

Ahead is the path of my choosing

I know I will never be losing

Behind it is time to shut the door

And forget the times I’d cry on the floor

Ahead it is time to take the path

And bask in the glow of the aftermath

Destination You

Too many white lines
Blur my vision
Coffee is in my veins
As I try to fuel myself
My grip on the wheel
Has become too tight
Traffic is lite at 4 am
Lulling me into weariness
But the highway before me
Is the road back home
Back to you
And much needed peace

Live (FOWC)

Let me live
In a primitive hut
On a deserted island
Away from the past

Let me live
A day in peace
Folded into seclusion
Away from my demons

Let me live
In the silence of solitude
On a hope and a dream
Away from your grasp

Through my fears and pains
Losses and gains
Just let me live

Panic To Peace

My anxiety hits.
My heart races.
My breathing is rapid.
The room is too small.
Everyone is staring.
I feel like I’m in a dim tunnel,
Then suddenly you are there,
Next to me to calm me.
You grasp my hand in yours,
I feel your strength.
You tell me to breathe,
“In and out,
In and out.”
You sit with me,
Speak calmly to me,
Understand me.
Your hand still wrapped around mine
You softly give me a squeeze
And whisper, “I love you.”
I can finally breathe easy.
My heart is calmer.
I have survived with help from you.
You make me complete.
You bring me peace.
