Can’t Sleep

I sit in near silence

The tv on without sound

It’s gentle flickering light

Playing tricks on the mind

The hypnotic ticking of the clock

Lulls me towards a sense of peace

While the millions of thoughts

Bouncing around in my head

Hold onto other plans

A solitude I want

A loneliness I fear

At war with myself at 3 am

Start Looking

Photo by Clem Onojeghuo on Pexels.com

Take some time for yourself

Generate happiness within

If you find the peace

You’re looking for again

You can find new joy and hope

Then the future you want will begin

I Think I’m Alone Now

She put the car into forward and pulled down the street.  Turning the corner, she headed for the highway.  She was stressed and so frustrated.  She hit the city limits and accelerated to 55 MPH.  Looking ahead of her there was only one car in the distance and no cars in the rearview mirror.  She took a deep breath and let out a blood curdling scream for as loud and as long as she could.  Then she smiled.

It wasn’t a big smile, just the smallest hint of one hitting the corner of her mouth.  She was finally free.  It had been a frustrating day with him moving out, but it was done and over and she had the keys back to her house… she could finally relax and not feel so alone while with people who ignored her.  She could find a little peace and solitude in the time she was alone now.  Not conflict and frustrations.

She turned the car around at the next turn and drove back into town.  She would grab a coffee at the local shop and then go to her home and for the first time in a long time, feel at peace.

Mumbles … Rue

Photo by Brett Jordan on Pexels.com

Rue… regret.  I have no regret, but he might.  I am in a transition and will not be writing this weekend (which is why I am posting so much right now)  I might have some time to read but that remains to be seen.  Life is complicated and I need t simplify things for my own peace of mind.  I promise to come back next week… I need to write and will be doing so over the weekend too as usual.  I just won’t be at a place to post.

I hope everyone has a good weekend.  May you all find the peace you need without a lot of trouble in the way.  Thanks for sticking with me.

Time

Photo by Mile Ribeiro on Pexels.com

Now is not the time to be meek

Find my backbone

Become the shark

Do all I can to be strong

I need my strength to face this day

Big plans on the horizon

Freedom is within my grasp

I just need to believe

Although this wont be easy

It Is what needs to be done

My peace of mind

And my basic happiness

Are on the line

No turning back now

The time has come

A Moment

I wish I had a moment

Just for a quiet repose

No pressures

No judgement

No endless thoughts

Perhaps today

Just for a short time

I can take a deep breath

And find a calm inside

A moment of tranquility

Where I can relax

Without the stresses

I face everyday

Without the pain

My body inflicts

Without being haunted

By my yesterdays

… perhaps for a moment

Maybe

are you sure

do you really

believe that lie

what he said

same old story

likely won’t change

stand up tall

believe in yourself

face the truth

he doesn’t care

he is lost

you have hope

future looks clear

maybe new love

maybe another dream

maybe at peace

finally freed heart

Need New Treads?

Photo by Malte Luk on Pexels.com

I am just not right

I feel a little off

I need to jumpstart my heart

To get my love on track

Tighten up the muscles

To lose a little fat

Calibrate my brain

To stop thinking of him

And basically overhaul it all

To reach a peaceful place

A World Beyond The Window

She stares out the window

Lost in a dream

Trying to find solutions

To life’s inequality.

A pensive look

Upon her face

She hopes for peace

And an end to hate.

She knows it will be

A long uphill climb

But the reward will be worth it

No more violence in the street

She stares out the window

Lost in a dream…
